@evleaks has revealed the key specifications of the rumoured Google Smartwatch, which is reportedly being made by LG. According to the leakster, the smartwatch will come with a 1.65-inch IPS LCD with 280x280p resolution, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage.
According to @evleaks, the processor to power this smartwatch is yet to be decided. To put these leaked specifications in perspective, Samsung’s Gear 2 comes with 1.63-inch 320x320p display, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. So, apart from lower-resolution display, Google’s SmartWatch is going to pack similar internals like Gear 2, however it is the battery life and user-experience, which are more important in a smartwatch but we don’t know those details at this point.
With the recent announcement from Google about its upcoming wearables SDK, it is pretty much confirmed that Google’s Smartwatch will use Android, probably a stripped down version. It is also rumoured to have Google Now integration but we can’t be certain. Anyways, we just have to wait for couple more months for the official unveiling as rumours suggest that Google will announced the smartwatch at Google I/O 2014.
