Chromecast might launch in UK on March 1: Report

With Cast SDK launch and impending flood of Chromecast supported apps, this Google media streamer is finally ready for launch outside USA.  According to a report in The Next Web, UK retailer Currys expects to begin Chromecast sales from March 1.

Google told TNW that it is planning to the release the Chromecast but stated that it is a provisional date and might be changed.

If Chromecast indeed goes on sale beginning March 1 in UK, it will become the first market after US to get this device, which was originally launched at last year’s Google I/O event.  To remind you, Chromecast allows consumers to stream web-content from their Android/ iOS device or Chrome desktop browser to their HDTV.

There is no word on the pricing of Chromecast in UK but it is likely to retail around GBP 30-35. It is also not sure whether Google will sells Chromecast via other retailers or on Google Play like in US.

Beats Music to add Chromecast support

In related news, Beats Music has revealed that it is working to add Chromecast support to its app so that its subscribers will be able to stream music on their HDTV.

The company confirmed the same on Twitter to a user.
