Red Nexus 5 official, goes on sale in 12 countries including India

Google has released a new colour version of its Nexus 5 smartphone in time for Valentine’s Day. The new Red version of the smartphone joins the already available White and Black versions.

It is now available for purchase at Google Play in twelve countries including India, US, UK and Japan and is expected to reach other retailers soon. It keeps the same colour coating as white version, where the front of the phone remains black, while the sides and back are Red.

Originally launched back in October 2013, Nexus 5 features Android 4.4, 4.95-inch IPS Full HD display, Snapdragon 800 and 2GB of RAM. The phone also comes with 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera and 16/ 32GB of internal storage.

Since its debut, Nexus 5 has been quite popular among consumers all over the world thanks to the aggressive pricing and great specifications. The phone along with LG G2 also helped LG reach 13.2 million smartphone unit shipments in fourth quarter of the last year.

Pricing and availability

Red Nexus 5 keeps the same price as other colour versions, which starts $349 in US and INR 28,999 in India. The phone is now on sale in USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Australia, Hong Kong, India, Japan and Korea at Google Play and ships in 1-2 days.
