Samsung starts pre-booking for Galaxy Grand 2, price still a mystery

We are already past the first week of January 2014 and still waiting for the India availability of Galaxy Grand 2 but at least we seem to be getting closer as the company has started pre-bookings for the phone on its official e-store.

Like all of its smartphone and tablet pre-bookings, the store is asking for INR 2,000 as a pre-booking amount, which will be adjusted in the final sale price.

I seriously don’t get these pre-bookings, as there is no good reason to give Samsung e-store INR 2,000 because it doesn’t get you a guaranteed device. You will just get two emails, one informing your promo number, which is used to redeem the INR 2,000 that you have paid to Samsung and another one to tell you that the phone is on sale and you can go and buy it. It is 2014 and I am pretty sure that some news publication like ours will tell you about the actual availability of Grand 2 before Samsung sends you an email informing it. So, why pre-book the phone, it is a waste of time and probably money as you might see a better deal than Samsung e-store before you purchase the phone but as you have already paid Samsung INR 2,000, which is non-refundable, you will have to buy the phone from them.

Coming to another issue, Samsung is yet to declare the final pricing of Galaxy Grand 2, it has been over a fortnight and we still don’t know the exact price of the phone. The company has just said that it will be priced between INR 22,999 and INR 24,999.

To remind you, Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 comes with 5.25-inch HD display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM and 2600 mAh battery. The phone also packs Android 4.3, 8GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 8MP rear camera, 1.9MP front camera and dual-SIM support.
