Samsung introduces Galaxy Camera 2

Korean electronics giant Samsung has started its CES 2014 campaign with the introduction of the Galaxy Camera successor in the form of Galaxy Camera 2 today. The smart camera will be showcased next week at CES.

Featuring 16MP BSI CMOS sensor, the Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 comes with 21x optical zoom lens with optical image stabilisation. The camera also comes with a 4.8-inch LCD, 1.6GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.3, 2GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, and xenon flash.

The usual connectivity options, NFC, 2000mAh battery are also present.

In addition, Samsung has included host of software tweaks like Tag & Go, Photo Beam, Mobile Link, Remote Viewfinder, Smart Mode, Smart Mode Suggest, Selfie Alarm and Multi-motion video.

“Consumers love the Galaxy Camera, and this next-generation version was designed to improve on the successful predecessor, with upgraded and new features that will enhance the photography experience,” said Myoung Sup Han, Executive Vice President and Head of the Imaging Business Team at Samsung Electronics.

There is no word on the release date or pricing right now but we expect to hear more at CES 2014.
