Sony has announced the launch of dual-connector USM-SA1 flash drive in the Indian market on Tuesday. These are the same drives, which were recently introduced in US for $20 and more.
These flash drives come with MicroUSB 2.0 and USB 2.0 connectors, which allow consumers to connect them to Android smartphones/ tablets as well as other devices like computers with USB 2.0 ports.
“Housed in a durable metal body and a strap hole to either loop onto a keychain or hung from your mobile phone as a phone charm, the USM-SA1 comes with a smart protective cap that not only protects the micro USB port from damage, but also locks on to the USB drive’s body for easier unplugging from the PC,” Sony India writes in a press release.
According to Sony, the USB drives will work with any Android device with Android 4.0.3 or above and USB OTG support. Android 4.4 is currently not supported but the support is coming soon.
