Update: We can now confirm that Samsung is indeed going to launch Galaxy Grand 2 in the country today. The press event is scheduled for 12 noon and is happening in Mumbai. The company is live-streaming the event, so you can watch it live here. We have embedded the stream below, check back at 12 for the live webcast.
Earlier: Like this week, the next week is also expected to be full of Android-related launches in India. We have already told you about the Gionee Elife E7 release on December 24, now a press invite from Samsung suggests that the Korea manufacturer is also planning to introduce a new Galaxy-series smartphone on December 23 in the country.
While the invite lacks detail on what exactly we are going on to see on the day, it is expected that the company will introduce the successor to much-popular Galaxy Grand. Samsung Galaxy Grand 2, which was introduced last month, will most probably be making its India debut next week.
Packing a quad-core processor, Galaxy Grand 2 features a 5.25-inch 720p HD display, 1.5GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, Android 4.3 and dual-SIM support. The phone also comes with 8MP rear camera, 1.9MP front camera, 2600 mAh battery and the usual set of connectivity options.
The pricing is unclear at this point but we expect it to be around INR 21,000.
