CyanogenMod hits 10 million installs, Cyanogen Inc raises $23 million series b funding

The popular after-market firmware CyanogenMod crossed 10 million total install past weekend. The total number of Android devices on which CyanogenMod currently rests is 10,019,806. It is important to note here that around 45 percent of these installs don’t run on the official CM builds but use the unofficial builds created by developers using CM code.

Among the device specific details, the original Galaxy S and its variants remain among the biggest users of CyanogenMod, followed by Galaxy S2 and Galaxy S III. (Source | via)

In related news, the Cynogen Inc. has raised $23 million in series b funding, led by venture capitalist Andreessen Horowitz. The company will be using this money to expand dramatically – opening an office in Shenzhen, China and hiring 50 more people. (Source)
