Fitbit Android app adds support for select Motorola and Nexus devices

Advertisements

Fitbit hasn’t had a great relationship with Android devices so far but that seems to be changing as the fitness accessory maker has announced the sync support for as many as ten new Android devices in the latest app update.

Here is the list of newly supported devices:

  • Moto X
  • Nexus 4 and 5
  • Nexus 7 (2013)
  • DROID RAZR M, HD, and HD MAXX
  • DROID MINI, Ultra, MAXX (OS4.4+)

Although still not perfect, the sync support for the new devices is a welcome addition. According to Fitbit, the background is disabled by default in the newly supported devices as it tends to cause rapid battery drain on both Fitbit and Android device. We hope a solution for this is in making.

In addition, Fitbit notes that the latest app update also increases sync stability on older devices like Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3.

To remind you, Fitbit Android app works with Fitbit activity trackers and smart scales.
