As expected, XOLO has officially launched the new XOLO Play Tegra note tablet today at a press event in New Delhi. A rebranded version of NVIDIA’s reference tablet Tegra Note, this XOLO tablet has been priced at INR 17,999, the same price at which it went on pre-order a few days ago at select e-retailers.

According to XOLO, the tablet is now available at all major retailers across the country.

To remind you, XOLO Play Tegra Note features a 7-inch 1280x800p HD display, Tegra 4 SoC, 1GB of RAM, 5MP rear camera, front camera, and Android 4.2.2. The tablet also comes with 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot and stylus.

The company has noted that Android 4.3 update will be available shortly and rolled-out over-the-air.

The tablet will be competing with Google’s Nexus 7 (2013) tablet, which is offered at a slightly higher price and comes with several incentives over the XOLO tablet.

XOLO user-interface coming in January 2014

XOLO has revealed that it is coming with its own user-interface next month, which will be pre-loaded on all of its future products. It would be interesting to see if XOLO is able to add any value to stock Android interface with its own UI, which is often lacking in the UIs from smaller device vendors.

XOLO has not revealed any details about this user-interface.
