Qualcomm introduces Snapdragon 410 with LTE world-mode & 64-bit support

Qualcomm announced the new Snapdragon 410 smartphone processor on Monday. Mainly targeted to the high-volume markets like China, this new processor comes with LTE world-mode support, meaning it includes both FDD-LTE and TDD-LTE support. This is not all, Snapdragon 410 is also Qualcomm’s first processor to be based on ARM’s Cortex A53 with 64-bit support.

Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) comes with four-cores and is built on 28nm LP process. It will be paired with Adreno 306 GPU.

“We are excited to bring 4G LTE to highly affordable smartphones at a sub $150 price point with the introduction of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor,” said Jeff Lorbeck, senior vice president and chief operating officer, Qualcomm Technologies, China. “The Snapdragon 410 chipset will also be the first of many 64-bit capable processors as Qualcomm Technologies helps lead the transition of the mobile ecosystem to 64-bit processing.”

• 1080p video playback and up to a 13 Megapixel camera support
• Support for Dual and Triple SIM
• Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM and NFC functionality, and support all major navigation constellations: GPS, GLONASS, and China’s new BeiDou
• Supports all major operating systems, including the Android, Windows Phone and Firefox

According to Qualcomm, Snapdragon 410 processor is expected to begin sampling in the first half of 2014 and to be released as a part of commercial devices in the second half of 2014.
