As you would have read, Samsung announced its successor to Galaxy Grand smartphone yesterday. Packing some decent improvements over the original Grand, Galaxy Grand 2 will be the new mid-range phablet champion from the South Korea smartphone giant.
Samsung has carefully taken care of most of issues with first generation device including the lower-resolution display. The Grand 2 packs 720p display, which is quite decent for a mid-range phablet. It also packs quad-core processor and 1.5GB of RAM, which are also good for an affordable big-brand smartphone but the question arises whether Grand 2 is competent to take on similar offerings from other smartphone vendors.
In this article, we will be comparing the specifications of Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 with Sony’s Xperia C and Lenovo’s P780, both of which come with similar specifications but being the slightly older models, they have lesser price-tag than what is expected to be of Grand 2.

Major problem in smartphone is battery and p780 wins here, also we know in samsung phones battery drians like hell….and grand is one of the same…. will prefer p780
Don’t know if I like the grand2, mostly because I’d like to get the note 3 but I could save some money, with this one for a good device anyway as it’s a mid range phone. I like the Sony but never tried a Lenovo yet. I like to try out new models and gadgets, I spend a lot of money on technology and recently I’m trying this web app to track better my expenses using this where I’m listing my products and their docs and I get data and stats about their value. It’s quite cool, maybe the grand 2 will be my next addition.
Lenovo P780 wins hands down in battery backup, but its a costly affair for repairs. The Front screen of my P780 shattered few days back and the official service center quoted 8470/- for replacement.
Does your P780 still on warrantee? It should be replaced with no cost from authorized service center.
Sorry as per the Authorized service center any physical damage casued by the user wont comes under warrantee
Is web browsing experience a function of the device or the network? Please advice.
Forget about sony and its promises!
prefer lenovo, for a quadcore proc needs a lot of battery.
The smart power management of p780 helps reduce the consumption of power quite well. When idle, it runs on 497 Mhz on a single cores. This last the battery life for 2 days easily.
xperia C is japanese technologies, samsung is idiot korean rubbish tech and lenovo is chinese crappy and sluggish better than rubbish tech…i prefer Japanese tech for the quality!
