Sony has started rolling out a new firmware based on Android 4.1 and 4.2 for Xperia M and Xperia M dual smartphones respectively. The company confirmed the same today via its PR twitter account.

According to Sony, the update firmware brings performance improvements, UI enhancements and camera tweaks to both the devices. The update is now available via PC Companion and Bridge for Mac softwares.
There is still no word on when the company plans to update Xperia M to Android 4.2 as the Xperia M dual has been running on Android 4.2 since release.
No bootloader unlock for Xperia C
In related news, Sony has confirmed that the bootloader of Xperia C won’t be unlockable like the company’s other Android devices. It also stated that there are no plans to make it unlockable going forward too.
The presence of MediaTek SoC in the device is probable the reason for this decision by the company. (source)
