Zync launched a new Android smartphone in the Indian market on Monday. Dubbed as Cloud Z401, the phone has been priced at INR 4,499 and is now available in the stores and online.

The phone features a 4-inch WVGA display, 1GHz processor, 256MB of RAM, Android 2.3 and 1300 mAh battery. Zync Cloud Z401 also comes with 2MP rear camera, front camera, 512MB of storage, 2G connectivity and microSD card slot.

“After seeing the success of the low cost tablets, we have decided to extend our footprint in the low cost smartphone category as well. This category has great untapped potential and just like our tablets, we plan to offer maximum features at a very affordable price to appeal to our value conscious Indian consumers,” said Amul Mohan Mittal, Co-Founder, Zync Global.

Should you buy it?

The presence of Android 2.3 and 256MB RAM makes it a very outdated smartphone and if you are looking for an Android in sub-INR 5K price-bracket, we suggest you choose one from Samsung’s Galaxy Star or Pocket, which although come with a smaller display but will offer better performance.
