Jelly Bean now on over 50pc of active Android devices: Google

Google has just released the latest Android platform data and unsurprisingly Jelly Bean has captured more market share. Devices running on Android 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3 now account for over 50 percent of the total active Android devices.

Among other Android versions, Gingerbread continues to be the second biggest Android release with its presence on over 26 per cent of the total Android devices. Ice Cream Sandwich is now on less than 20 per cent of the total active device. Rest of the Android version are left with around 4 percent of the share, divided between Donut, Froyo, Honeycomb and Cupcake with Froyo account for the most – 1.7 percent.

We expect to see the debut of Android 4.4 KitKat in the next platform data release. Check out more details about the latest numbers in the following tables.
