Sony has announced that it has begun rolling-out a software update for its SmartWatch 2. The company has not revealed a clear timeline and has just noted that the update release schedule will depend on your country or telecom carrier. So, the next time your smartwatch connects to the internet, look out for an update.

Although not a major software update, it brings performance tweaks and improvements to the device, Sony noted in a blog post. The company also stated that new update will particularly improve the home-screen swiping experience on the device.

There are no other details available right now.

To remind you, Sony SmartWatch 2 was originally introduced back in June and comes with 1.6-inch display. It acts as a companion device for your Android smartphone and is sold for $200 in US and INR 14,990 in India.

already had the update on the 21st, not noticing any real differences. I was really hoping this update would bring back the digital watch face pictured on the box, with time and date, no idea why they removed it.
