I recently bought the xPad FREEDOM 3G tablet. While the makers claim that the internal memory is 8GB, what they have not made public is that the internal memory is is divided into 1GB (apps only) + 7 GB (apps + user data).

Now, since the internal app-memory for apps is capped at 1 GB in the tablet, no matter how many apps you move to the external storage (the ‘internally-external’ storage of the remaining 6-7GB), there comes a time, when the internal storage for apps runs out of space, because there are a number of apps that must stay on the internal memory in order to work and you can’t move them and when this limit is reached, this tablet starts displaying warnings and won’t install new apps or upgrade existing apps.

If you install a micro SD card (supports up-to 32 GB), you cannot move apps to this memory. You can move selected apps (that support moving) internally from the 1GB app memory to the 7 GB within the tablet only.

That way, the tablet really is limited and the makers have not made this information public. This is a limiting aspect of the tablet and is a frustrating part. Other than that, the tablet is good.

And please don’t be led into thinking, “1 GB is pretty huge and I won’t need more space than that”. The operating system of the tablet consumes a lot of space and very soon, you would run out of app memory. I have very basic apps installed and struggle each time when there is a batch upgrade/update of the existing apps or I install new apps.

Be careful of what you want.

this idea of 1Gb (internal) and 7 Gb USB Stock is so baaaaaad
and if there’s any new Update since 25/09/2013 please HEALP
so tired for no new version and no new MOVE from Simmtronics 🙁
