Samsung silently unveiled a new mid-range Android smartphone in the Chinese market on Wednesday. Dubbed as Galaxy Trend 3, the new smartphone succeeds the company’s previously launched Galaxy Trend and Trend 2 handsets.

As per the product listings on Samsung China website,  the company is introducing four variants of the phone in China – SM-G3502, SM-G3502U, SM-G3508, and SM-G3509. Most of the specifications of these four variants are same, but there are still a few differences like the network support and Android version. SM-G3502 and SM-G3502U run on Android 4.2 and support WCDMA/ GSM, while the other two variants come with Android 4.1 and support CDMA/ GSM (G3509) and TDSDMA/ GSM (G3508).

Other specifications of the phones include 4.3-inch WVGA display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1800 mAh battery, and 3MP rear camera (5MP in SM-G3502U).

There is no word on pricing or availability in other countries, however these will go on sale in China next month.

The unlocked 3502U with the 5MP sensor sounds suspiciously like the Galaxy Core with an Android version upgrade from 4.1 to 4.2.
