The main upgrade is the presence of Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor in the new Padfone Infinity. Asus has also included a microSD card slot, Android 4.2.2, and a secondary microphone for noise cancellation in the upgraded version. As the smartphone now includes a microSD card slot, Asus has decreased the internal storage from16/ 32GB from 32/ 64GB present in the earlier version.
The changes aren’t just limited to the internals; the company has also tweaked the overall design of Padfone Infinity with the new diamond cut on the metallic backside. The software has been given a facelift and now comes with a revamped camera app, which Asus calls PixelMaster. According to Asus, Pixelmaster combines multiple pixels to form a smaller but sharper 3MP image.
Other specifications are same as the previous version – 5-inch full HD Super IPS display, 13MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, 2,400mAh battery. The smartphone also comes with a tablet dock like the previous versions, which comes with 10.1-inch display and 5000mAh battery.
Pricing:
There is no word on the availability right now but the new PadFone Infinity will cost NT$18,990 ($640) in Taiwan, while the tablet dock will sell for NT$7,000 ($240).
