Micromax Mobiles has officially launched its much awaited Canvas 4 smartphone today. Already on pre-order at the company e-store, the smartphone has been priced at INR 17,999.
As we had already told in our exclusive report, Micromax Canvas 4 features a 5-inch 720p IPS display (touch works even with gloves), 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor and 1GB of RAM. The phone runs on Android 4.2 and packs a 13-megapixel rear camera with image stablisation, 5-megapixel front camera and 2,000 mAh battery.
In addition, the phone comes with dual-SIM (dual-standby) support, microSD card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.
The phone will be available beginning this weekend in major retail stores as well as on the company e-store. The pre-order shipments will start tomorrow.
Micromax Canvas 4 measures 8.9mm in thickness and weighs 145 grams. The phone frame is made of aluminium, but the rest of the body including the back-cover is plastic.
In terms of the software customisations, the Canvas 4 smartphone comes with new unlock methods – blow a kiss to your phone (really Micromax!) or shake the phone. Other tweaks include support for vertical panorama in camera app, video pinning to home-screen support (similar to Samsung’s Popup Play), Flip to mute, Smart Pause (Micromax’s version of Smart Stay),
Pre-order figures
Micromax stated at the launch event that it received over 11,500 pre-orders of Canvas 4 phone and 4,000 of which came in the first 24 hours. To remind you, Micromax started the pre-booking for Canvas 4 on June 28.

This is just a rebadged blue life one.
18K for Micromax phone? No way.
the hype was too much ..
Canvas 3 better option, considering value for money. Iberry Nuclea N1 is much more powerful then canvass 4.
After all the advertisement build up to this phone…it ends with this…lol…
Blow a kiss to unlock, just wow!

Tulshi,
If you see the actual feed – https://androidos.in/feed/ there are no old posts present, it seems to be an issue with Feedly, I have contacted them, lets see if they fix it. Can’t do anything from our end.
This was issue with another reader too. I used to read in NewsSquares for Chrome. Switched thinking it was issue with that extension.
Yeah seems to be not an issue from your side…Thanks for prompt reply..
You can add optionally add this feed URL – http://feeds.feedburner.com/androidosfeeds, it is working fine on Feedly.
Yeah it seems to work well…Thanks Gaurav!!
nothing to comment. just one word “copycats”
out of 11500 pre-orders, may be up-to 90% peoples definitely cancel their order after seeing the price. lol
5mp front camera will eat more bandwidth on video calls
