Will Asus announce Nexus 7 successor today?

An interesting piece of information has appeared online, suggesting that we might see the announcement of the next-generation Nexus 7 tablet at Computex.

In a note to clients, Chitra Gopal, an analyst with CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets, stated that Asus could launch its refreshed Nexus tablet at Computex trade fair. The company is hosting its Computex press conference today, making today the apt day to reveal this elusive Nexus tablet if it is indeed planning to do that.

Although we highly doubt the Nexus 7 II launch at Computex, we wouldn’t be surprised if Sundar Pichai or Larry Page made an appearance at Asus press meet just to unveil this Nexus tablet.

Originally rumoured to be making an appearance at Google I/O last month, Nexus 7 II is reportedly being made by Asus and packs Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon processor in addition to a full HD display.

The Asus press meet is scheduled to begin in just over 2 and a half hours and we will know soon enough if Nexus 7 II is showing its face at Computex 2013 or not.
