Samsung announces Galaxy S4 Mini with dual-core CPU & qHD display

Samsung has officially announced the rumoured Galaxy S4 Mini smartphone today. There is no word on the availability right now, which is expected to be revealed at the June 20 press event where the company will be showcasing this smartphone.

According to a press release by the company, Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini will be sold in White Frost and Black Mist colours. The phone will be available in different variants depending on the market like 4G LTE version or 3G HSPA+ version or 3G Dual-SIM version.

“We appreciate such unprecedented demands for the GALAXY S4 that we aimed to provide users with life companion for a fuller, richer and simpler life. And now, we want to give people more choices with GALAXY S4 mini, similar look & feel of GALAXY S4 for more compact and practical usages ,” said JK Shin, CEO and President of IT & Mobile Communication Division at Samsung Electronics.

The specifications of S4 Mini are considerably lower than the company flagships Galaxy S4. Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini packs a 4.3-inch qHD display, 1.7GHz dual-core processor and Android 4.2.2. The phone also comes with 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.9-megapixel front camera and 1,900 mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini also comes with several software customizations, which were first introduced in Galaxy S4, like Sound and Shot, S Travel, Story Album and Group Play.
