Nexus 7 successor to go on sale in July: Report

Thanks to Google’s plans to make this year’s I/O more developer-centric, the company did not announce Android 4.3 or Nexus 7 successor at the event. So, when is the next Nexus 7 tablet coming? Seems like, we are going to see it in July.

According to a report on Digitimes, Google plans to start selling the next-generation Nexus 7 tablet in July and will keep the existing price. There is no way to confirm this, but we don’t really see Google waiting too long to launch the Nexus 7 II.

The report also adds that Nexus 7 II will use Japan display’s 1920x1200p resolution LTPS TFT panel. Google reportedly plans to sell 6-8 million new Nexus tablet units in the second half of 2013.

As per previous reports, the tablet is packing a Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor (probably Snapdragon 600 or S4 Pro) along with 2GB of RAM, 5MP rear camera, front camera and Android 4.3.

Google could announce the Nexus 7 II alongside Android 4.3, which is now rumoured to be arriving in June and then begin selling the tablet in July. We will know more in the coming days.
