Nexus 7 3G, 32GB Wi-Fi tablets launched in India, starting INR 18,999

Join the already available Nexus 7 16GB tablet in the country

Soon after the launch of Nexus 7 16GB Wi-Fi only version in the country, now Asus India has announced the release of Nexus 7 Wi-Fi only 32GB version as well as Nexus 7 3G version in the country. The 3G also comes with 32GB of internal storage.

Earlier, Google has started selling the Nexus 7 tablet via the Google Play store in the country for INR 15,999.

Google Nexus 7 tablet packs a 1.2GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, 1GB RAM, Android 4.1 (Android 4.2.2 update available OTA), 32GB of internal storage and 1.2MP front camera. The tablet also comes with Wi-Fi connectivity, 7-inch 1280x800p resolution IPS display with Corning scratch-resistant glass.

Pricing and availability

The 32GB version of Nexus 7 Wi-Fi tablet has been priced at INR 18,999, while the Nexus 7 3G tablet with 32GB of storage will be sold for INR 21,999. Both the versions seem to be only available via Asus channel partners, as we are yet to see them listed on Google Play.

Update: We have a confirmation from Asus India that the new versions (3G and 32GB) won’t be available via Google Play and will go on sale through their retail partners beginning next week.

Update 2: The 32GB WiFi only version is now also on sale via Google Play.

This is ridiculous. Why would Google sell only the entry variant and not the 32 GB version. This seems to be a scam. Google is using its name to market Nexus 7 and then letting Asus sell the higher versions at a premium.
