The update is 575MB big and can be applied via company’s update tool as well as over-the-air. There is no official changelog available right now, but the update should bring Project Butter UI improvements, Google Now, improved notifications, better widgets and browser enhancements to this Optimus series smartphone from the company.
The update also brings unlocked bootloader to the phone, which should help the custom ROM development for the smartphone. We might see some love from CM community soon.
Part of company’s L-series devices, LG Optimus L9 was originally launched last year and comes with features like 1GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4430 processor, 1GB of RAM, 5MP rear camera with 1080p video recording support and 4GB of internal storage.
If the update has reached in one of countries, which are not listed above, do let us know in comments. Also share your experience with the update.
