As we get closer to the Galaxy S 4 launch, more and more details about this next Galaxy smartphone are becoming clear. The latest bit of information coming from WSJ suggests that Samsung is using SwiftKey’s predictive technology in Galaxy S 4.
WSJ Says:
Samsung Electronics will include SwiftKey’s predictive technology in the new Samsung Galaxy S 4, which will be unveiled at an event in New York on Thursday, according to a person familiar with the matter.
If I understand this clearly, Samsung is most likely to use its own custom keyboard as default in the Galaxy S 4, but it will be using SwiftKey’s predictive technology in the backend to provide next word predictions.
This comes without surprise as SwiftKey licenses its technology to serve as the back-end processing for keyboards. One recent smartphone that came with SwiftKey’s technology in backend was BlackBerry Z10.
