XOLO’s upcoming phone will not have Intel Clover Trail+

Advertisements

Turns out we were wrong, reports are coming in suggesting that XOLO’s upcoming launch does not feature Intel Clover Trail+ platform, as earlier anticipated. The phone will run on older Intel Medfield processor.

Some new information has also emerged from XOLO’s teaser on its Facebook page, which suggest the phone will come with 4.7-inch 720p HD 2.5D curved glass display with 312PPI,  and unibody design. The 2.5D curved glass was last seen in LG’s Optimus G Pro smartphone.

Other details are not available at the moment, but as the phone is being launched on March 14, we don’t have to wait much longer.

XOLO is sole Indian manufacturer to launch Intel-powered smartphones in the country and all of its launches so far have been based on reference designs by Intel. Looks like company is finally moving away from that with the upcoming smartphone, which seems to be a XOLO designed smartphone.

To remind you, XOLO is a sub-brand from Lava and its portfolio currently includes smartphones in three series – A, QCore and X. Company recently launched its first quad-core smartphone in the form of Q800, which is now on sale for INR 12,990.
