Reports are coming in from Russia, which suggest that the Japanese manufacturer might announce the much leaked Xperia L and Xperia SP smartphones next week. Company has scheduled a press event in the country and MobiTelefon.ru believes that Sony will announce Xperia L and SP at this event.

There is no way to confirm, which phones is Sony going to showcase at the event, but unless Sony plans to announce a local launch of some product, the Xperia L and SP launch seems likely. However, we would not put our money on that just now.

Sony Xperia L and SP, both smartphones have been leaked in detail till now and seem to be Sony’s Xperia U and P replacement devices for the current year.

Sony has seen some initial success with Xperia Z and it seems wise to announce the mid-range offerings right now.

To remind you, Xperia L is expected to come with 4.3-inch FWVGA display, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor, 8MP rear camera and 1700 mAh battery.

On the other hand, Xperia SP is rumoured to feature 720p HD display, 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm S4 Pro processor, 8MP rear camera, 8GB internal storage and Jelly Bean.
