Samsung is reportedly going to launch entry-level Galaxy Star smartphone very soon. There is no word on the launch date, but we can expect the announcement sometime during Mobile World Congress.

Samsung Galaxy Star GT-S5282 features Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, 3-inch display with QVGA resolution and 1200 mAh battery. The phone will also pack 2MP rear camera, 4GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

A previous leak suggests, the phone will feature Spreadtrum CPU coupled with Mali-300 GPU, which was further confirmed by a benchmark listing.

According to Sammobile, the Galaxy Star will be available in stores around April 8, 2013. Considering the specifications, we believe the smartphone is targeted to developing market like India. It is expected to replace Galaxy Pocket, which comes with similar features.

The Korean manufacturer has been quite successful with its entry-level smartphone and as we reported earlier today that Galaxy Y, Y Duos are the two top Android smartphones in India, followed by models like Galaxy Fit and Ace, which also come with budget specifications.
