S Mobility’s cheapest Android phone

S Mobility has silently released its cheapest Android smartphone till date in the form of Spice Stellar Buddy Mi-315. The phone is currently on sale via a number of online retailers including Saholic and Flipkart.  Priced at INR 3,490, it will be competing with Lava IRIS N320, which is the cheapest Android phone in the Indian market right now at INR 3,399, and Micromax A25 Smarty.

Spice Stellar Buddy Mi-315 features 3.2-inch capacitive display of unknown resolution, Android 2.3, dual-SIM connectivity, 1GHz processor and 256MB RAM. The smartphone also packs 512MB of internal storage (170MB usable), 2G (no 3G), 3.2MP camera and 1400 mAh battery.

At this price-point, we can’t really expect great specifications, but apart from the lack of 3G, the Mi-315 seems to be providing a decent balance of features.  However, Lava’s IRIS N320, which is around INR 100 cheaper than the phone provides almost similar specs apart from the lower-res 2MP camera. So, if you are looking to grab an Android smartphone under INR 3,500, these two are your best bets.
