LG Optimus G worldwide roll-out begins with Jelly Bean on-board

LG has announced it will finally start the global roll-out of the Optimus G smartphone later this month. The smartphone will first go on sale in Singapore beginning January-end followed by some 50 odd other countries.

Originally launched in September last year, LG Optimus G was still only available in US, Canada, Korea and Japan.  The smartphone, which is also the base for Nexus 4, comes with a 4.7-inch True HD IPS Plus display, 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB RAM, NFC, 13MP rear camera, front camera, 32GB internal storage, LTE and 2,100 mAh battery.

“As 4G LTE availability expands on a global scale, we will leverage our strong LTE technology and expertise to offer consumers the best 4G experience through our devices,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “With the latest Jelly Bean OS and improved software, Optimus G will make a strong case for the title of ultimate premium 4G LTE smartphone.”

LG has revealed that the new version of Optimus G being rolled out in 50 markets will come pre-loaded with Jelly Bean. The originally launched version had Ice Cream Sandwich on-board.
