Temple Run 2 Android version coming next week

Advertisements

Imangi Studios has just released the successor to its hugely popular Temple Run game in Apple’s iTunes App Store and as expected everyone is wondering when is the Android version going to be released? Well, it is happening next week.

Polygon is reporting that Imangi co-founder Keith Shepherd told them that the Temple Run 2 Android version is almost done and should be arriving next week. It will be released in Google Play as well as Amazon App Store. Shepherd however was cautious about the launch date as he stated – “with these things, you never know.” So, while it is very likely that the Android version releases next week, but if it gets delayed a bit, chances are something went wrong and it would arrive soon.

Keith also revealed to Polygon that Temple Run 2 is based entirely on Unity Engine, which supports multiple platforms and would make it easier to port game between platforms.

Coming back to Temple Run 2, Imangi has kept the basic gameplay same as the original in this game, but visuals, animation and characters have been revamped. It is available for free download and the company is monetising by sing in-app payments — for items such as power-ups and coin doublers.
