In not so good news for struggling manufacturer, Sony’s Xperia V has been reportedly delayed. According to a tweet by Sony Mobile France, the Xperia V, which was earlier scheduled to release next month, will now go on sale in January 2013.

There are a few positives that we e can take from this news, the price is expected to be reduced when the smartphone goes on sale in January, and also the phone will be running on Jelly Bean instead of Ice Cream Sandwich. The smartphone will now be sold for €529 instead of €549.

The current confirmation of delay is only valid for France, but it is likely that the smartphone will be delayed elsewhere in Europe too.

Company has not revealed any reason for the delay till now.

The smartphone has already been launched in company’s home country Japan by KDDI, and NTT Docomo is also likely to launch it next week.

To remind you, Sony Xperia V is a water and dust proof smartphone and comes with features like  4.3-inch 720p display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 1GB RAM.
