HCL announces 9.7-inch 3G Android tablet Me G1 for INR 14,999

Indian company HCL has announced the launch of yet another Android tablet in the country today. Part of its Me series, the tablet will be known as HCL Me G1. According to the company, HCL Me G1 is now on sale for INR 14,999.

Same as other budget tablets in the country, Me G1 also runs on Ice Cream Sandwich. The tablet features 9.7-inch IPS 2 display with 1024x768p resolution, dual-core 1.2GHz processor and 1GB of RAM.

Me G1 also comes with 16GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 2MP rear camera and 0.3MP front camera.  On the connectivity front, you get built-in 3G support, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, HDMI, and microUSB.

There is a 7,000 mAh battery at core of this tablet. HCL Me G1 does not come with Google Play support; however the buyers will get access to company’s own app store.

The company is running festive offers to attract the buyers and each buyer will get a silver coin. There are several other prizes but they are draw-based.

HCL also retails two other ICS tablets in the Me series currently – Me U1 and Me Y2.
