Will the next Nexus known as LG Nexus 4?

Advertisements

We have seen all sorts of LG Nexus leaks and rumours in the recent few days, but the naming of the smartphone is still very much a mystery. Now a screngrab of UK retailer Carphone Warehouse inventory listing is suggesting that the rumoured LG built Nexus might be known as Nexus 4.

The device has been labelled as LG Nexus 4 in the listing with two colour options – Black and White. Even though the screengrab might be authentic, this is no definite proof of the final branding of the smartphone.

If true, this could mean a shift in Nexus naming, which hasn’t really stuck to one path. While the first Nexus was dubbed as Nexus One, the second was Nexus S, third Galaxy Nexus, so there is no clear naming scheme here. Nexus 4 fits well, as it is the fourth smartphone in the series, but we will have to wait and find out.

The next Nexus is rumoured to be announced at the end of October or early November. According to previous reports, LG Nexus will be based on company’s Optimus G and comes with 8GB internal storage, 2GB RAM, wireless charging, 4.7-inch display and 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor.

We have also seen several images of the smartphone in last few days; you can check them out here and here. The first images taken from the 8MP camera of the rumoured smartphone have also appeared online.
