Google to launch next Nexus phone in 30 days: Rumour

Latest rumours also indicate that next Nexus phone will run on Android 4.2, a minor upgrade over Jelly Bean

Well, this is not surprising, given the fact that the last Nexus phone “Galaxy Nexus” was announced in October 2011, so it makes sense if Google wants to release next Nexus in October 2012.

According to Android & Me, Google is planning to launch the next Nexus smartphone within 30 days and it might debut at AllThingsD: Dive Into Mobile event, which is happening on October 29-30. The smartphone is expected to run on Android 4.2, a minor upgrade over the Jelly Bean release.

Given the fact that Jelly Bean was released just a few months ago, a minor version upgrade makes sense otherwise releasing major Android versions so fast will only harm the ecosystem.

There is no word on who is going to make this Nexus phone, but past rumours has pointed towards LG and HTC as main contenders. Some reports suggest that next Nexus will be based on recently announced LG Optimus G, while other note that it might be based on HTC’s leaked Dix.
