It is only minutes to the Amazon tablet launch press event, and we are hearing that Amazon Appstore has crossed the 50,000 apps mark. According to a report in The Verge, Amazon Appstore now offers 50,505 Android apps.

It took a total 18 months to reach this milestone since its launch in March last year.  Appstore had reached 30,000 apps six months ago and we expect the growth to be even faster now, as Amazon has opened it to more countries outside US.

Android users can now access Amazon Appstore in a total of six countries – UK, Germany, Italy, France, Spain and United States.

We are expecting Amazon to share some more interesting stats at the press event and we will be bringing all the details right here.
