Where ‘G’ stands for ‘Great’, says LG spokeswoman Jinny Lee

It has been quite some time since we knew that LG is going to launch a Qualcomm S4 Pro quad-core processor powered smartphone at IFA trade fair, which will go on sale next month in Korea. However it was the name of the smartphone that is question until now. Now, thanks to LG spokeswoman Jinny Lee, we are pretty sure that this upcoming phone will indeed be called LG Optimus G, which was till now being circulated as its code-name.

LG Optimus G is going to feature 1.5GHz quad-core processor, 13MP rear camera, front camera, LTE connectivity (select markets), 4.7-inch True HD IPS+ display with 1280x768p resolution, 2GB RAM and Android 4.0.

The smartphone will also have an innovative battery on-board along with a slim profile.

“So far, LG has been underdog in smartphones. But we are sure to eat up more market share with the Optimus G,’’ Lee told Korea Times. “Viewing quality really matters in smartphones. Our HD display is far better than Samsung-pushed OLED screens in terms of comfort and natural usability,’’ he added.
