Advertisements

VLC mobile team has released the beta version of VLC Player in the Google Play store just now. Dubbed as NEON, this version can be downloaded from here.

The current version is only meant for devices with ARMv7 processor. VLC team points out that other devices will soon be supported by other applications.

Features:

  • Plays most local video and audio files, as well as network streams, like the desktop version of VLC.
  • Media library for audio and video files, and allows to browse folders directly.
  • Support for multi-track audio and subtitles. It supports auto-rotation, aspect-ratio adjustements and gestures to control volume.
  • Widget for audio control, supports audio headsets control, covert art and a complete audio media library.

As this is just a beta version, VLA team has noted that a lot of things like user interface might change and users can expect various bugs in the player.
