Asus makes good on its promise as usual, Transformer Prime update rolling out now

Over the past few days, we’ve been talking about an update that was supposed to be rolling out to the Asus Transformer Prime. At first, we weren’t sure what the update entailed or when it would be available. Then, we found out that Face Unlock among a handful of other features and enhancements would be included and that Asus was targeting March 29th to begin rolling out the update. That was yesterday and this is today — March 29th — and just as promised Asus has once again delivered.

Now, for the nitty-gritty. If you own a Prime, go ahead and check your system settings and there should be an OTA update awaiting. The update will bring your Prime’s firmware up to version 9.4.2.21 and, as I mentioned previously, it brings Face Unlock along with it. Also included is a new upgrade path for the camera, improved HDMI support and updates to the pre-installed Asus apps.

If you have yet to receive the update notification you can try and force the update by looking under Settings > About Tablet and check to see if it’s already available. Have patience if not, as this is a worldwide rollout and the OTA could take a bit to reach you.

Be sure to let us know if you’ve already gotten the update and how you are liking it thus far!

There are really many small and not so small improvements, and it seems to be working very well so far. However, Face Unlock is just not there for me, I don’t understand… Can anyone confirm they can set security to face unlock?
