Samsung Galaxy Note ICS update will bring “Premium Suite” with S-Pen specific apps in Q2

Owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note who were hoping for a Q1 Ice Cream Sandwich release will have to wait just a bit longer. Samsung has announced plans today for the official Android 4.0 update for the device, which is said to be coming in the second quarter of this year. While, it may not be the news everyone wanted to hear, there’s still a bit of a bright side to this story, as Sammy has decided to include a a “Premium Suite” of applications designed specifically for use with the Note’s S-Pen.

With the Premium Suite upgrade, we wanted to add features that enrich users’ Note experience even more, including the great advantages of Android 4.0 and innovative applications for S Pen,” said JK Shin, Samsung’s president of IT & Mobile Communications. “We are committed to providing extraordinary experiences for consumers, and we will continue to provide new features and upgrades to enrich our offering.”

No specifics were given on an exact release for the update. In fact, Sammy was kind enough to remind us that ““the availability and scheduling of the software upgrade will vary by market and wireless carriers’ requirements.” We’ll let you know the second the update drops.
