Asus India has announced the launch of quad core tablet Transformer Prime in India today. Priced at INR 49,999, it will come with Android 3.2 pre-loaded and will get Ice Cream Sandwich via an update soon. Company has also bundled the keyboard dock with the tablet in this price.

To remind you, Transformer Prime features NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, 1GB RAM, 10.1 inch Super IPS Plus display, 64GB of internal memory, 8MP rear camera, front camera and Wi-Fi connectivity. There is no word on the pricing of 32GB version or whether company would even release that in the country.

Looking at this price, I am not sure if Asus is going to get many buyers for the tablet. How many of you are thinking to get this quad core beast at INR 50K?

This tablet is available in US for 750$ including Dock. Here they are selling it for almost 1100$. Until the price drop, very few people will buy it. It should have been at about Rs. 40,000.

This ASUS is great, I like the idea with the additional keyboard, but the price… They’d better think about it once again))

Ridiculously overpriced. Is Asus blind to the reality of the Indian market? I think that 35k is an upper limit for these devices.

at this price i can get

ipad 2 wifi only = rs 30000
nexus s = rs 20000

i can get both the latest os thus

They themselves can’t rectify their device, like screen bleed in previous transformers and on the other hand they launch new tabs in such short intervals. Have they lost their mind? I was an Asus fan but after such a pricing it simply looks like a rip off. I’m no longer a fan of Asus back to Samsung 🙁
