Chinese manufacturer ZTE has launched its first quad core Android smartphone ‘Era’ at Mobile World Congress today. ZTE Era will be released in Europe and China in the second half of 2012.

“In 2012, ZTE products will be building up from the low-middle end of the market into the middle-high end, with the ZTE Era being the best example of that development,”. “We will continue our long-standing cooperation with operators around the world, but we will also continue to build our distributor channels (both ODM and OEM), and we will be focusing our marketing in particular on the high-end markets of Europe, America, Japan and China,” said He Shiyou, Executive Vice President EVP and Head of the Terminals Division, ZTE, in a statement.

ZTE Era features 1.3GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, Icera 450 HSPA+ modem, 4.3 inch qHD display, 8GB internal memory, microSD card slot, HD voice, Dolby sound, Android 4.0 with ZTE Mifavor UI, 8MP rear camera and LTE connectivity.

It also comes with Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, UMA support for Wi-Fi calling, DLNA, and is just 7.8mm thick.
