Xiaomi decides to make MIUI open source

Advertisements

Chinese start-up Xiaomi, which is also the creator of MIUI Android ROM, has decided to make the code of MIUI, open-source. Developers will be able to grab the source over at Github, however the entire source is not available right now but will be soon.

The released source is for the Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread version, but as ICS development is currently in progress, we hope to see its source too after the completion. It is certainly good news for Android ROM developers, now they will able to include to MIUI parts in their custom ROMS easily.
