Leaked Samsung Galaxy S firmware brings Face Unlock, more

Advertisements

A leaked official firmware for Samsung Galaxy S has come to light and is being dubbed as the so-called value pack update. There is clearly not much value in this value pack, Samsung seems to have thrown Face Unlock, a photo editor app, ability to take pictures simultaneously while shooting a video, and a new lock-screen.

If you like the above tweaks and features, you can grab the download from this XDA thread and flash it via ODIN onto your Galaxy S I9000.

Samsung was recently reported declining any plans to bring ICS or a pseudo update to Galaxy S and it seems to be sticking to that. This leaked firmware is in no-way a value –pack one would have hoped for.

Samsung Galaxy S I9000XXJVU Details:

  • Android Version: Android 2.3.6
  • Build Date: December 29 2011
  • Change List: 851880
