Skype for Android updated, brings photo & video sharing

Skype has released a major update for its official Android app today. Dubbed as version 2.6, this update brings the ability to send images and videos via Skype for Android.  You can also view files and share documents and all of this works on 3G as well as WiFi networks.

Skype for Android 2.6 also brings improvement in the battery life and video quality for devices powered by Tegra 2 SoC. So, if you are using most of the Honeycomb tablets, you can Skype without worrying too much about battery.

Skype team continues to add more devices to its compatible list and Amaze 4G and Motorola RAZR are the latest entrant. According to the company, now almost every device with a front camera and Android 2.2+ on-board should be able to perform Skype video chat.

You can grab the latest version from Android Market, or simple update via your device based market app.
