According to the publication, Google will debut the service as a pilot project in London in the Q1, and make it full operational by London Olympics, which will start on July 27. To remind you, Google Wallet is an NFC based mobile payment service, in which consumers store their credit card, loyalty card details in the app and then can make secure payments at any Paypass terminal by just tapping the phone.
Google already has a tie-up with Mastercard in US and it might take that partnership to UK as well. In terms of compatible smartphones, Acer has recently launched an entry-level phone Liquid Express, Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus are already available, and Panasonic is set to release a NFC phone. Other manufacturers might also be planning to launch such devices.
