Huawei Ideos X5 getting Gingerbread update by Nov-end

Huawei has announced that it will be releasing the Android 2.3 update for Ideos X5 smartphone by the end of this month. Update is expected to be available OTA but it is not confirmed as of now, it might be released via a PC update tool often done by Huawei.

Huawei’s Statement about the update:

“We can confirm that the IDEOS X5 upgrade to Android 2.3 will be available by the end of November.”

There is no specific time-frame for country-wise roll-out of this update, we would be happy if company releases it simultaneously worldwide.

Huawei Ideos X5 was released in India back in June along with X2 and Ideos Chat smartphone and is the first to get the Gingerbread love.
