Sony to acquire Ericsson’s stake in Sony Ericsson for 1.05bn Euros

Ending the speculations, Sony has officially announced that it will acquire Ericsson’s share in SE.  According to today’s announcement, Sony Ericsson will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony and Ericsson will get EUR 1.05 billion cash for its stake.

This deal will also give Sony a big patent cross-licensing agreement and ownership of five patent families. 

Sony has also announced that it will give company an opportunity to integrate smartphones with its other network-connected devices including TVs, tablets, and PCs.
