AT&T announces five Android phones, Atrix 2 coming on Oct 16

AT&T has announced five new Android smartphones in United States. All these smartphones will be launched at different time intervals before the end of 2011 and will be part of its holiday offering.

With these AT&T’s count of Android phone for this reaches 19, which is pretty good for a telco that promised 12. The smartphones are Motorola Atrix 2, Samsung Captivate Glide, Samsung DoubleTime, Pantech Pocket, and ZTE Avail.

Telecom operator has only given the pricing and availability details for Atrix 2, which will reach the market on October 16 for $99 with the usual two year contract. This Atrix successor features HSPA+,  4.3-inch qHD display, 8GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM, a 1GHz dual-core processor, 8MP camera, and front cam.

  • 4-inch 480×800 display
  • 1GHz dual-core processor
  • Android 2.3
  • 8MP primary camera
  • 1.3 MP front shooter

Samsung DoubleTime

  • Android 2.2
  • 600 MHz Qualcomm processor
  • 3.2-inch HVGA display

Pantech Pocket

  • Android 2.3
  • 4-inch SVGA display
  • 5MP primary camera

ZTE Avail (launching on GoPhone)

  • Android 2.3
  • 3.5-inch display
  • 5MP camera
  • 512 MB ROM, 512 MB RAM, 2 GB microSD card
